Material + Care

MATERIALS

The glass used in each piece is a mix of new and repurposed glass, as well as vintage glass finds. Some of the glass may come with minor imperfections due to wear from its past life, or from the manufacturing process. Any glass imperfections are calculated in final cost.

Keep in mind that glass is very difficult to photograph and may look slightly different in person compared  images displayed on product listings or Kassie Rae Glass social media pages.

LEAD WARNING

Unless stated in the product description, lead is used to solder and frame stained glass pieces. Use caution and wash hands thoroughly after handling. Lead is mostly harmful if consumed, so be sure to wash hands before eating.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Suggested for indoor use only to guarantee a long life for your stained glass artwork. Extreme temperatures and moisture can cause stained glass art to crack and oxidize. For cleaning, polish gently with a soft dry cloth or use ammonia-free glass cleaner if needed. I recommend Natural Bee’s Wax cleaner. Be sure not to over-clean your piece as it can dull its polish and shine.

HANGING INSTRUCTIONS

Do not hang your stained glass piece using suction cups. Even for smaller pieces, it’s advised to always use secure hanging hardware such as nails and screw hooks. Be sure to check the weight capacity of whatever hardware you use to insure your one-of-a-kind stained glass art is safe and secure.
